Different authentication methods have different use cases, but overall, yes, we foresee biometric authentication to overtake OTP as the preferred security model due to its robust security capabilities and ease of use. Biometrics offer an additional layer of protection by verifying something that is inherently unique to each individual, thus reducing the risk of fraud. Moreover, with the BSP’s focus on operational resilience and real-time monitoring, biometrics align well with these objectives by facilitating secure, efficient, and user-friendly authentication processes.
