1. Can you tell us how Entrust is helping financial institutions secure identity, payments, and digital transactions?

Entrust helps organisations protect people, devices, and data so they can create smoother, safer digital experiences. By applying identity-centric security across the entire identity lifecycle, from onboarding through transactions and continuous monitoring, we help our customers fight fraud, reduce risk, meet compliance needs, and create trusted experiences.

At Entrust, we establish trust from day one through AI-powered identity verification, biometrics, and document verification, then extend that trust across authentication, account recovery, payments, and other high-risk interactions. By combining trusted biometrics, adaptive authentication, and fraud intelligence, we help financial institutions reduce fraud, prevent account takeover, and stay ahead of emerging AI-powered threats.

2. Many financial institutions have invested heavily in KYC and onboarding. Why are we still seeing so many account takeover attacks?

The fraud battlefield has shifted from account opening to account access.

Over the last decade, banks have significantly strengthened onboarding and KYC controls, making it much harder for fraudsters to create fraudulent accounts. As a result, attackers are increasingly targeting existing customers through account takeover, exploiting stolen credentials, social engineering, deepfakes, and compromised recovery processes. This is why identity can no longer be treated as a one-time verification event. Organizations need to extend identity assurance beyond onboarding and into high-risk moments such as authentication, account recovery, and transaction approvals.

3. As digital banking continues to grow in the Philippines, how can banks and fintechs strengthen their defenses against Account Takeover (ATO) while maintaining a seamless customer experience?

The future of fraud prevention in the Philippines is not more OTPs, but stronger identity trust.

The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing digital banking markets in ASEAN, but with digital growth comes a rapid increase in account takeover (ATO) attacks. As fraudsters exploit weaknesses in passwords and OTPs through phishing, social engineering, SIM-swap attacks, and AI-powered impersonation, financial institutions need stronger ways to verify the real person behind every high-risk interaction. Entrust helps banks and fintechs build a trusted identity from onboarding and extend that trust through biometric authentication, adaptive authentication, and continuous identity assurance across the customer lifecycle. By helping organizations prevent ATO while maintaining a seamless customer experience, we can support financial inclusion, regulatory compliance, and long-term digital trust in the Philippines.

4. Entrust recently launched the Agentic AI Trust Accelerator to help organisations securely adopt and govern autonomous AI agents. What would you say are the biggest challenges that need to be addressed before agentic AI can be deployed at scale?

Before you trust AI to act, you must be able to trust its identity.

The Entrust Agentic AI Trust Accelerator Program was created to bring together organizations, technology partners, and industry innovators to help shape trusted and accountable frameworks for autonomous AI. As businesses move from AI experimentation to deployment, the biggest challenges

are trust, governance, authorization, and accountability. Every AI agent should be identifiable, authenticated, authorized, and auditable, just like a human user. As AI-powered impersonation, deepfakes, and automated attacks continue to rise, establishing trust across humans, machines, and AI agents will be essential for adoption at scale

6. How significant do you think are platforms like WFIS for the Philippines?

Innovation moves faster when the ecosystem comes together

Platforms like WFIS are incredibly important because they bring together regulators, banks, fintechs, technology providers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of financial services. As AI, digital identity, fraud prevention, and financial inclusion continue to evolve, collaboration across the ecosystem becomes more critical than ever. These forums allow the industry to share best practices, discuss emerging challenges, and explore new approaches to building trust in digital services. For Entrust, it’s an opportunity to contribute to the conversation and work with the ecosystem to strengthen the future of digital finance in the Philippines.
